Syracuse
is a city in, and the county seat of, Onondaga County, New York. The city has functioned as a major crossroads over the last two centuries, first between the Erie Canal and its branch canals, then of the railway network.

Syracuse Fire Department - Stations & Apparatus
|
The Syracuse Fire Department - protects a 25-square-mile area with a population of 145,000 that grows significantly during daytime hours. Currently 390 firefighters staff the department and answer over 23,000 alarms a year of which 100 are major fires. The Syracuse Fire Department holds an ISO class 1 rating, the only department in New York State to do so. The Syracuse Fire Department has 11 fire stations which house 10 Engine Companies, 6 Truck Companies, Airport Rescue as well as Rescue Company and Haz-Mat.
